I use Cata IDs a lot, I'd rather extend values in the server code than use lower IDs. It makes sense to just use Cata IDs, it makes porting easier for one and it's a habit.

yeah if you're using cata ids i think this is more expected, i can dig up my old extension that allows you to use a few more ids than by default

there is an upper limitation in the packet structure itself. The serverside mask is stored in a binary blob so it's just there to allow it to be smaller. Trinitycore generally do not compromise much with custom content in those situations
