"just add helmets to the folder" - the items/ folder inside the mpq?
We used the rename tool from mc-net that renamed, so, make sure the suffix for the helm files matches the characters suffix in the char dbc, correct? Example: "vum" or whatever.
For the SQL entries - item_template - am i adding data to this ?

you add entry to Item_template only if you are making new items

so all you need to do is add 3d models to folders in patch into the Item/objectcomponents/head/..

since wow only looks int othe ItemDisplayInfo.dbc finds there a HelmModel.m2 then goes to game checks what race you are then goes to CharRace.DBC finds which suffix is said race using corrents that suffix with helmname thus it changes to HelmModel_VuM.m2 and seachs for that file then

Thank you - sorry for having to have it spelled out for me. I have an ongoing "guide" on my discord for all the steps im taking so it may help all this in the future. I mean things change due to updates and such, but, at least I will be able to have the full process in the end - that will help new people and save you guys from spelling it out 10k more times. So again, thanks for the assist and the information.
