Did you put the DBC files in the correct path within the MPQ file? Did you do the same for the ADT files and the BLP files?

Do you understand that when you make an MPQ file the intent with it is to override the previously loaded ones?

I'll try and help the best I can. Make sure the MPQ file is named correctly for example letters come after numbers and it's sensible to use a letter to keep your stuff separate from Blizzard stuff so you could call it patch-A.MPQ and it will load after the numbered patches. Look into a Cata client or CASC storage and check the path for the island ADTs and BLPs. I can help you further if you would like me to but the paths have to be correct. For example the Map.dbc file specifies the name of the directory for a map, that map directory is ALWAYS in World/Maps.

Another thing I would like to ask is are you new to modding WoW? That forum post was wrote in a way that targets the advanced user, it was also packaged for the advanced user for example it doesn't come with all the stuff in an MPQ file rather it simply gives you the map and textures and you've to do the rest.

I'm just merely making sure they have an understanding. It's easy to say something isn't hard.
