Is this something weird I've done with blending mode or something weird like that? surely not? If I were to put this texture standalone with nothing underneath it on Blizzard terrain it is dark brown redish like I expect, so what could possibly be turning this blue? Or the other one pink?

I use https://github.com/Kanma/BLPConverter to parse it into a rbgabitmap, edited it a bit to accept a stream instead of file handle, for live loading into memory from CASC

I doubt it's an issue with the tool itself, it's just quite weird, that it's off colour. maybe something strange I've done with imgui. Weird thing is, it doesn't look like I'm missing red, green, or blue, so don't understand what could possibly be tinting it

there might be issues with blp converters in general, we got reports both blplab and the pywowlib fork of blpconverter fails with some files despite using correct flags
