Having done more work with editing light since that post I'm very sure it is RGB and that there should not be any distortion using RGB

It's been a while but I remember I tested my tool against default DBCs, using the same color as the one WMT gave me and it matched

This diffuse colour says it is 96, 78, 80. If we convert that to a RGB int that's `6311504` which doesn't match the DBhttps://imgur.com/GtdoyCN

But you are right in the example you posted that there's a mismatch between the DBC value in your ss and the tool. I don't know why, I did not encounter that mismatch myself.
