So for anyone else encountering this issue. All i had to do was the following
1.) So i had to make the channeling mages SmartAI's and make them force despawn instantly and respawn the approaching npc at their spawn location (some random seconds, quite far apart from eachother to make it look a little unique and not so cluttered) ( i used 1-2 and 0-2 yards and kept moving the mages until i was satisfied with the result)
The NPCs that walk into the portals were just given a path from spawn point to the portal, didn't bother with anything else tbh.
