unlikely to be an mpq issue if tiles are generated as expected. i'd look up thtat error message in the core and see what exactly it's reading to produce that

custom maps are extremely rare in practice, so wouldn't surprise me if it's just broken for many versions of the extractors

if it doesn't exist then yeah, then it could again be an mpq issue. Did you ever get it to produce _any_ custom vmaps?
