Pretty sure that's because the flight master position is not enough close enough to one of the positions defined in the DBC (maybe first taxi node), did you try without a custom blp?

should work even with broken blp, getting custom flightmasters to work might require editing the core to increase the available bits in the mask unless you use very low ids because most valid (custom) taxi nodes aren't valid flightpaths

taxi masks have the wonderful property of NOT being part of updatedata, and from what I tested you can increase it to pretty much anything you want
