correct, it should be `scripts/addons/wowtools/__init__.py` (along with other files, and those can be in subdirectories just fine)

you have to drop the wowtools folder in the addon folder yes, not directly what is inside (and then restart blender if it doesn't find the addon)

if the addon is activated, file -> import -> m2 intermediate and find the model you have converted with redux
