today is a different question, but tc was almost impossible to use on anything above 500 pop 5 years ago because they didn't use the new libraries correctly at all, which is why sunwell hardforked and why azerothcore still is on ace

AC usually takes the bug fixes of other projects (credits them in the PRs obviously) and adds them to their core if feasible and not a pretty bad hack

iirc AC doesn't run on ace anymore or they're in the process to remove it
