I ran worldserver.exe once, completed the remaining steps in the guide, and then bnetserver.exe once. The latter suggests everything is functioning, but I can't re-open worldserver.exe to create an account (the cmd prompt automatically closes upon opening). Any thoughts?

I'm trying to restart, now, because there weren't any server logs from today (just yesterday evening, when I was batch extracting the maps).

I initially had an error with missing .dll's, which was solved easily enough, but now I can't even get the worldserver.exe to stay open.

there must be a server.log file in the worldservers directory. it tells you what you need to know

this tells you exactly what went wrong. you compiled the binaries with a mysqlversion that does not match the libmysql.dll file you just copied into the directory

you compiled the binaries with mysql 8.4, your libmysql.dll originates from mysql 8.3
