Why someone would want to use postgresql if one can't use the better features anyway, you might ask? Well, I have already a psotgresql server running, I'm absolutely familiar with it, while with mysql I'm a bit rusty. Backup, or trouble shooting if something isn't right, I figure out eventually, but with postgresql I'm working every day, so yeah, for sure I choose postgresql if I have the option (and I choose it even if I don't get the option, as porting it over for my own setup is less of a hassle than dealing with mysql), as it's basically a onetime effort, which also serves as a training for my work)

I won't even try to convince anyone (I also didn't do so with vmangos or cmangos). It's really just my private setup. But if TC wants to offer it officially and support it, it's even better and I of course would more than welcome such a step
