by default scenarios use just regular criteria code so a lot of stuff should "just work" already, that code is shared with achievements

It really depends on the dev that wrote it. Blizz can do the same thing many ways.

We should start using weird technique fingerprinting nicknames, so someone can be like "Oh, so, what the heck is going on with the criterias in [zone]" and someone goes "Oh, that's just Frank being Frank."
