Hey hey!
I am kinda curious! I got the master = 10.2.0.52649 server up an running and also fine connecting to it. Everything works!
Now, due to some problems with the launcher I might have to rollback to the 10.1.7 - 51261 client. Do I have to recompile everything and set up an entirely different server for the older version using the old repository I'd commits I'd assume? Or can the latest master branch also execute for version of the same extension, but slightly older?

you need to recompile with an older version of the sources, there are packet structure changes and other stuff between versions that makes incompatible to run newer server with older game

Does the database itself also change much or you think I could maybe even just move that one over?
