no, because addons can only work with info that the client can handle

I can send the stats via addon channel and cache them or just generate a static db LUA file for the client of the items that have the new stats. is there something im missing?

well that would be fully custom then and should work

but at that point your original question doesnt matter (because you are doing it all in client addon file)

yeah I dont want to get in the business of modifying the client files at all, its really just a work around to not do that lol

well, then you can just get to working on it, theres no longer any special place in core you need to edit
