However when I use the launcher and client from that, it can login but it says incompatible. Which makes sense.
So I take it there must be something with my client or launcher

I got that sorted. I have WoW installed with retail that I play on. I have just coped this folder and using this for my new TC installation. Both TC and WoW is 9.2.5
