Are there any existing scripts that sort of has the same effect as spell_area by utilizing coords to hardcode an area?

If you want a spell script to use a hardcoded area, why not just hardcode that region into a spell script? Literally check if the player's X and Y intersects with that area

Because you mentioned aura, I guess you most likely want something like a periodic dummy, then you hook the dummy effect and handle it there.

But I question why you cannot use an AreaTrigger, which will allow the client to send to the server when it enters the area on movement -- far better accuracy and performance
