at the end of the day, the long way out of this would be to check the loot table of all the PvP vendors and pvp rewards and just check for those items array when entering an instance......but as I said,.....it's the LOOONG way out lol

For WotLK, I would categorize an item as PvP item whether it had resilience or not, I think. WowHead even calls the stat "PvP Resilience Rating"

Items from vanilla does not have this stat though, since it came in TBC.
