If you have it all in one spell then they’ll both get applied at the same time

But that would require that the visual effect is present in the base spell. So far, these are 2 separate spells, hence the method with the trigger

Another method would be to spawn a trigger NPC at the player's location that only triggers the auras after 2 seconds. I had already thought of that. Basically the trigger NPC has the marker aura and after 2 seconds it triggers the AOE effect.
