Can't they also block spell cones? I'm fairly sure that mechanic is used by Sapphiron in Naxx.

So seems to me it is related to specific m2 features which is a pain.
Original model is `World\\Goober\\g_iceblock.m2` which is used in saphiron encounter.
I'm swapping to `World\\Kalimdor\\Silithus\\passivedoodads\\crystals\\silithus_crystal_spike_04.m2`
As best as I can see the only difference is that the ice block has a Close, Closed, Stand, Open animations.
Without those, it does not seem to block LoS.
