What I am going to say is:
1) on a technical level you need tools to convert the assets, and that is not trivial at all, it requires in-depth knowledge;
2) Even if you do convert the assets, what are you going to do with lets say, Halls of Origination? It's a Cata dungeon wit the entrance in Uldum, a Cata zone. You do want Cata dungeons but you don't want Cata zones. Problem right there

If you are attempting to start a pserver you will need to atleast famliarize yourself with the basic code base and structs. Know what a method and hook is.

well I leave the cata (as wotlk) after Urs suggestion that its impossible
I only asked about it because someone with similar knowledge to mine suggested that it might be easier.
