Hi all- totally new to TrinityCore- and I have successfully pulled the cata_classic branch, and rebuilt the RelWithDebInfo config w/o error. I have updated the cata_classic via battle.net to version = 4.4.0.55141 which matches the cata_classic branch version (as of today)...

My question is did I mess up picking the cata_classic branch? All the docs I've seen on the wiki only refer to master or 3.3.5 branches... Or am I ok to proceed and follow the master branch info I would presume?

I found the issue. It was a Source code issue.

I still don't know *how* to debug shit though. I don't understand what breakpoints are, or any of that other stuff.

Breakpoints allow you to stop at particular points in the code- or when particular conditions are met- like a variable equal to a specific value- very handy to help isolate issues quickly. From the break- you then have a few options allowing you to step over, into, or to the next line of code- etc.

Yes, that doesn't tell me how I actually set them up though. Or how I run my server exe and have it execute them.

It just doesn't click for me. Maybe that's the autism, maybe it's just not actually being a programmer.

Yes, that does involve a bit more work- like selecting the debug build- rebuilding to generate the pdb files, then setting break-point(s), and either running the server FROM the (assuming VS2022 here) IDE, or attaching to the server after the fact...

Despite three years of fucking with TC, the code-side of things is something I just don't understand.

I feel like I'm getting better with SQL slowly though.
