meh, you should be able to point apt to new release, no need to reinstall everything

search for a debian upgrade guide, it will be better than whatever i can write from memory

Just updated the latest 2022 Runtime and that appears to have had some success. Might have been the problem since I am running 17.10.1

you can really do that on every available vps on earth. Update procedure is not different than non vps debian
