Yeah that can work though. If you keep era as a base, and let players copy a 60 from era to say BC and then play BC->Wrath->Cata (and MAYBE MoP) then rinse/repeat. It could be something

I personally am not a fan of playing a game knowing that all my progress gets wiped anyways. Like why putting effort into it when it gets lost anyways?

I expect when they decide an "end" game for classic they will need to keep that up. E.g. let's make pretned they decide that is MoP. Then they keep a small set of realms running on MoP. Then make realms for BC, allow xfer/copy from era. Play BC, wrath, cata, mop and then give the option to xfer to the mop realms and start over.
The other option is a true end for the classic experiment. Again, not saying they won't do that either.

I think with SoD they wanted to expand the era style of game. But maybe they didn't realise they maybe pushed it too far with the extra abilities? I'm not sure.

At some point they'll just shut the whole classic part down. The nostalgia hype wave has long passed by and SoD is an experiment which obviously starts to fail

What I mean is, when the final phase finished, maybe they would have considered continuing to make new content at level 60 with SoD extras.

I'm not sure if they will do new content. SoD is a season, so it has a definitive end and a new theme will come around

Anyway players are fickle. They might announce some cool shit in phase 4 and many will return. Who even knows.
