Oh my word... I've been banging my head against this wall for a couple days now, just to have it be something dumb like the gm visibility. What settings in the configuration do I need to change to default to visibility? And can dot-commands be run with GM mode off?

btw you can see if invis is on when you can see the 50% transparency debuff on your character

I see. I'll make a change to those settings. I didn't see the debuff. But I'm so glad that this is all just a simple thing to fix!
