The reason I'm using a Chromebook is because the 2022 back to schools Chromebook sale I picked up for $99 that then failed spectacularly (fire and smoke) 3 months later led to a warranty claim and they upgraded me to a $750 unit that has a bigger screen. I threw an SSD in there, transferred it to Linux and it's much faster than my old $700 windows laptop
