they do work the same as they do in the open world. the only difference is the instance_spawn_group table which determines when a spawn group is active

there you can set required boss states to make them spawn or prevent them from respawning when a certain boss state is set

I cant find anything that associates creature spawn ID with being the boss of the spawn groups or anything that makes the spawn_groups spawn. Everything in the instance is unspawned on ID 69

yes. the creature has been added to a spawn group, which is probably tied to a boss state via instance_spawn_groups.

yes. and as you can see, that spawn group is refencing a boss state (2nd column) and a bossState bitmask that must be met to enable the spawn group
