if you have not used linux before, I'd rather recommend using the microsoft store and setting up a virtual machine with linux running on it to get a basic understanding of everything before throwing money out of the window.

The difference between windows and many variations of linux is vast. Basic mechanics you are use to in windows is not present in linux. So you will be running into unfamliar territory and abour a hr or 2 learning curve just to know how to set up shit
