it happens, I have seen at least one fork that later become private (github shows notification when sb forks your project), but I'd be surprised if they have build anything significant (other than replacing sai and database jsons with their own actions and db structure). There's been way too many times where Eluna has been forked by some server where they did massive overhauls and performance improvements, I have yet to receive a single PR

These for-profit servers have a lot of money to throw at people. Doubt they're paying taxes too.
