And to play the personal example, I got so fed up with editing spell DBC data by hand I made the tool and shared it publicly. It's evolved over the years and it wouldn't be where it is today without other people contributing to it.

It would be nice if the large server projects that take the tool, improve on it, and keep it closed source would contribute back though

Of course, everyone here does this in their free time and as a hobby. Nobody says it has to be available overnight. That's why there's Github, where you can write an issue and then just wait until the author has time to install the feature

it's the same as saying "I can't do this in C++" because CreatureAI doesn't have a method that does exactly what one wants
