And I like it when you try to get help about things you don't yet understand and every time I talk about SAI it's made fun of as if SAI was the curse of you. and I'm just trying to understand what is new territory for me and am looking for help from people who designed it.

I'm glad that SAI exists and the many functions as well as the DB editor. It didn't exist many years ago when I started with mangos. This helps me and many other users to create beautiful events and other things.

SAI has it's limitations, it's an abstraction over the emu scripting API. It doesn't support everything.

It's worth learning how the database works and how to edit data directly for the times where SAI isn't the answer, or you want to see how certain data is composed to understand how to edit it further or make use of it.

Having a GUI DB editor is a relatively new thing, and not something I imagine is officially supported, but I could be wrong. If you ask questions here you're going to get the technically correct answer, not one that caters exactly for your needs. Unfortunately that's the reality of a few people trying to support a large userbase.

The conditions table let's you set conditions on other pieces of data... Sort of says it in the name. So you can make the area trigger conditional on being in the correct phase. I'm not a fan of these schemas that are not very human readable and you have to compare docs side by side, and that's where a DB editor or other GUI helps. That's also why I would just script it. I'm more comfortable doing that and it's only me maintaining it.

SAI is very complex. Without an editor like the wow Databse editor, I would never have been able to create a mega project like the one I'm currently writing. The GUI helped me a lot and the same goes for your spell editor, it just simplifies everything a lot. Of course it's not the solution for everything, but it's a very good tool.

Yup. Editing spell DBC data by hand is pretty futile. Likewise SAI is very hard to edit by hand. GUI's do help massively. But they don't support everything, just like my spell editor is missing functionality

And when the tools are missing the functionality, the only way to complete the objective is to get your hands dirty
