as far as mysql is concerned you usually need to configure it specifically to allow connections outside the localhost, and for wow servers it's the realmlist table+worldserver.conf. what i usually do to debug these things is throw up a very simple node webserver on the port i want to host until i got that working, then move on to the more complex application

i cant even get to authenticating with my public ip, the problem is that no ports are forwarded even if i did the settings correctly

I wouldn't open mysql to the internet, especially not from the default port
