schlumpf tried to convince me to do the same, but split mpqs will never happen in practice. nobody wants to keep a listfile in their head for every file they add, it just needlessly complicates every tool that works with them

either blizzlike behavior is to always place file x in mpq type y, or blizzlike behavior is different load orders for different locales. tomato tomato
