I've asked elsewhere, but I feel I need to cover my bases. I have a 3.3.5a server. My IRL friend who lives many states away has the battlenet launcher. Is there a way to do the classic and get it to play on mine, without it updating to re-overwrite the SET portal "my ip" line?
Or, if not, then how do we get her client to join?

You can't (currently) connect to a 3.3.5a server from a Classic client
