im not too sure how trinitycore updates these nowadays (i never use the table auto-updater), but it might work if you dump the entire characters database, then try to start the server, create a new account and then just change the account id of all your characters to the new account

account id is likely why your characters don't show up, but you also need to copy the whole character db, not just one table
