vim is just plain awful, it does not behave like a text editor at all, you have to do that mode switch thing

Yeah, but the weird thing is.. I never learned the combos for nano stuff.. I remember the vim stuff to do pretty much my editing needs.

vim is among the better investments you can make for your wrists and thumbs, but it's very dumb how it's the default editor for things like git. It usually takes a couple of weeks to get used to

isn't screen based entirely around ctrl activating every command? That button is so horribly situated on many keyboards i avoid it more than any other button
