You seem very serious about this. I'd advice you to make up a detailed plan to Blizzard about "open random ports" on your pc and have people connect and register. Just ask them for a paper permission signed by their lawyers. Since it's not illigal copywriting by any chance, right?

I know, I wanna figure out which tables have the rare drops, since my rare mobs which lack unique loot don't really drop anything, when they should at least have a 100% chance of dropping a random green/blue.

That's true. He was very wrong from the start... lol. TC is free, he doesn't know what means "free".

Any PC is a host.. you all have ports in your machines... it doesn't matter if it's your home PC or a server in any datacenter. And downloading TC server, compiling it and hosting it on your "PC" it is perfectly legal under the GNu, GPL or whatever. (Ask who you want). Fck Blizz...
