Instead of appearing here in the Auction House, I get an in game mail saying my item (previously added) has been successfully sold & when the time passes I get another mail with the gold value that it has been sold at, ultimately resulting in double the amount of mail absurdly.

That's just letting you know the item has been sold. In 1hr check again - you will have your money

I am aware, but:
1) you're getting double the mail.
2) it's not the blizzlike behavior

It was back then - if you were online or logged in before that 1hr, you would get one of these. Might not be live today - I haven't played live in some time.
