holy crap I'm an idiot.... the answer I was looking for but didn't quite realize was to:
1. Download a client from 3rd party (ty MaxtorCoder)
2. Move extractors to folder with wow.exe
3. run extractor - this will produce the needed dbc, map, vmaps, and mmaps folders/files.
