Is there an easy way to set an NPC to ignore pathfinding ONLY when out of combat / when following a path of waypoints?

I have added some waypoints for the two Booty Bay Bruiser in the tunnel at Booty Bay. But I have this minor issue where the NPCs will skip certain waypoints because there "pathfinding mechanism" kicks in, if that makes sense. It happens at certain spots in the tunnel where the floor is uneven.

So far I have tried to adjust the positions of my waypoints at those spots and I can somewhat work around the issue by doing so, however I also tried to set the NPC to ignore pathfinding which completely gets rid of the problem, however to my understanding it isnt the "right way" to do it.
