if I understand correctly, when a weakaura has strings about "Layer 1" or "Layer 2" like Nova World Buffs, it's not reading any real value from the server, it's just making a guess based on the information that the same weakaura receives from others

there are none. The only hint you can see is from sniff data by watching out for Connect_to packets (which is what the client uses to switch between instances)

If you want to swap 1.12 to 2.4.3 to 3.3.5 I think you need to use cmangos, unsure how seamless the transition is but it has variants for all 3 iirc

some data may be difficult to convert but if your sql skills are somewhat decent, you should be able to port most of the data without major issues

it's mostly a matter of finding the right column counterpart and converting the results accordingly
