what all is involved in client authentication with trinitycore? like if i want to make my own custom launcher, what do i need to do? I tried just establishing a tls connection using a certificate and lanching wow.exe, but it tells me my credentials are wrong every time, so i'm obviously missing something. anyone know what else i need?

You need a patched exe or a launcher that applies those. There is no way around that
