At the moment it's still 45 MBIT, unfortunately there's still no fiber optic here.... Unfortunately, the expansion in Germany is progressing somewhat slowly.

U may be able to handle 100 at most but thats based on your connection

If u had 1gbs u could handle over 1k as your ram and processor spec could easily handle it

I also don't think I'll ever have 1000 players. I'm thinking of putting the VPS aside for now and hosting it myself and seeing how many players there are, because if there are more than 100+ you can always rent a root server with the appropriate hardware.
Because spending money every month when nobody is playing on it at the moment doesn't make sense for me and I can develop locally too. Especially since I'm still creating my content anyway.

I already have experience with self-hosting from various other games. It's just a cost factor. A good root server costs a lot, whereas a VPS is cheaper but you share a PC with different customers. The upload can be as good as it wants, but if the hardware is limited, it's no use to you.
So my idea was to use my mini PC as a server, it has competent hardware and the upload is enough for the first few players.
