I imagine a world where bnetserver has an internal facing API for worldserver to do the stuff that it needs to do, and worldserver no longer has access to LoginDatabase. that'd be cool

speaking of logindb, does this imply that multiple realms have a race over who gets the first battle pet guid? if I try to create a pet on realm 1 first, I get the new guid, meanwhile realm 2 has old GUID, can't insert on it, so throws errors on saving db.
