I feel like I'm getting close, but I also feel like I'm throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what will stick

also the open source launcher can be updated for 4.x by adding two lines in Launcher.cs. however, it doesn't support the dev mode this way so either you fix that or add self-signed localhost certificates
