I know someone who always installs the DB updates completely by hand because his server is extremely customized and can only be done manually ^^

In contrast to retail (master), woltk 3.3.5 actually only gets fixes because everything is already there in terms of content. On the other hand, if you master it, it will continue to develop because new content or other things are always being added. woltk 3.3.5 doesn't get any new content.
