Also you should ask yourself if it's worth the trouble. You don't need to extract maps etc with every TC update, I think you only need to when the client adds (or modifies, but I do not believe that ever happens) maps, or when sth related to the map extractor changes

I often change things, for example adding new wmos, which then make it necessary to extract it again
