Well I'm actually not afraid to write intrinsics code manually so I'm definitively not OO-friendly (with the rare exceptions where it actually shine). But for a project like this I think of it like <@228947336800370689> mentioned. It's most likely an educational project for some members. If they go to industry they will see both better an worse solutions.

The project can do whatever it wants to do. I do find it ironic for it to be "educational" but then also not doing anything to "learn" but then again it isn't my project, and so it really isn't my business how they choose to structure it

Look I get it, the project is your baby and you get protective when you get critique. But writing any critique off as trolling doesn't improve things.
