It's extra stupid though, given it just puts a number on your items, and doesn't actually account for if your items are good for you, in general, or how good you actually are.

has there actually been any instance of personal loot in wotlk/cata already? thinking about how to handle the personal loot part for classic and if there is no need for it at all, I'll probably remove it alltogether

But given that the knowledge of the game has increased and you can access items ilvl now, and that the original API does not exist anymore, I would have expected people to just use ilvl on 3.4
