I mean I honestly have no idea what I'm doing - so yesterday I was trying to make my own map with noggit and... I guess that was only the data folder?
So should I just back-up "on the go" so to speak and before making any changes to a file, I copy it over to another folder?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was just in the wow client I made changes

i'd just save a "original/untouched" copy of the client then

return to that status and copy all stable changes onto it afterwards

So I'm going to have my "own" copy of the client that I fool around in, and a "clean" version.
When I make a change, I change stuff in my "own" copy. If those changes worked as expected, I overwrite the "clean" version?

i'd always keep one entirely clean version however, in case bad fuckups happen

I'm scared
In warcraft 3 when making a custom map I would always save a new version, like map 1.0, map 1.1, map 1.2 etc and have a ton of maps - but that's not really realistic here

Yeah that sounds like a good idea

(idk how modding in 3.3.5 works btw, maybe peeps in <#870722120458600528> have a better idea, i just went with a generic backup rule here)
